There’s nothing as tasty as nabbing a taco from a converted laundry truck at 2 in the morning, splashing it with fiery-red salsa, and popping the whole thing in your mouth with glee. Or hopping down the street on your lunch break to grab a gourmet burger on the go for just $5. Thanks to South Florida’s ever-growing fleet of food trucks, more of us are doing just that. We’re eating our meals on plastic patio furniture and leaning over the trunks of our cars. We’re huddled in the corner of parking lots scarfing hot dogs and taking BBQ to go from bright-red trailers. And it tastes fantastic. The problem is, you just gotta know where to get it.

With so many new trucks cropping up all across Broward, Miami, and Palm Beach, it can be hard to keep track of them all — let alone figure out when each is showing up and where. So we decided it was high time to create an ultimate encyclopedia of South Florida food trucks. This one-stop shop list will list each truck, its cuisine type, its hours, and its location. We’ll continually update the list and vet each location personally. By the time we’re done, we’ll have the most comprehensive catalog of mobile eats in SoFla.

Whether it’s a basic hot dog concession trailer, or a gourmet Italian Food Truck serving organic pasta, or, maybe a multi-flavored yogurt truck, Bruce Hicks will build it for you. And, then service and maintain it, as needed.

Most Food Trucks and Concession Trailers as used in warm weather, so it’s important to provide proper ventilation. AAA Concession Trailers designed a rooftop system that works well in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as well as other warm weather cities.

The sunroof ventilation system requires machine shop craftsmanship and the experience of a builder who has worked on a variety of vehicles. Bruce Hicks is an experienced RV conversion specialist who began building food trailers and converting utility trucks to food trucks in 2008.

One of our customers, Mega Munchies, was on the road with a group of South Florida food trucks. The gathering was at the Sunrise Presbyterian Church in the Country Club of Miami area, just north of Miami Lakes. From 5:30 PM to 10 PM, the food trucks served up a wide range of restaurant-quality food, in an open air setting. The trucks provide a taste of the multi-cultural social environment that has evolved in South Florida. While each truck provided some music, a central sound-system would have created a more festive environment, and might have encouraged people to linger longer. As it was, after visiting a few of the food trucks, there was nothing else to do, so you leave.

You are encouraged to stop at a Food Truck Stop, if you encounter one. It’s worth your time, and the value is significant.

AAA Concessional Trailers is a custom-builder of mobile concession vehicles. Whether it’s a box truck or large trailer, we handle wiring, plumbing and kitchen appliances.

We are located adjacent to I-95, just north of Oakland Park Boulevard and west of NW 10 Avenue.

Although it was only for a couple of months, the hospital needed to prepare food during construction, so we customized the trailer and supervised installation. The project was over, the food preparation equipment was removed from the trailers and used to upgrade several smaller food trucks.
